Kids attractions in Dubai summer

Eight brilliant indoor spots where kids stay cool, active, and genuinely entertained all summer long.

A mother and her two children explore an indoor tropical rainforest, one of Dubai's most unique kids attractions in summer.

Kids attractions in Dubai summer are a gift, and if you have lived here through July or August, you already know the city builds its best indoor spaces for exactly this season.

The world in one dome: the Green Planet

The Green Planet in City Walk is an indoor biodome that takes children into the heart of a full tropical rainforest, complete with a canopy, forest floor, and flooded lower level. This indoor ecosystem is home to more than 3,000 species of plants and animals, including the very popular sloth.

Kids can observe sloths, toucans, reptiles, and insects up close while learning about biodiversity and conservation. Educational talks and animal encounters make every visit both interactive and memorable. The experience works well for children of all ages, from curious toddlers to older kids who enjoy nature.

Beyond the animal encounters, the Green Planet also offers experiences like camping in an indoor rainforest and even becoming a zookeeper for a day. Book tickets in advance, especially during peak school holiday weeks.

Learn and play: KidZania Dubai

KidZania is a mini city where kids take on real-world roles like doctor, pilot, chef, or firefighter, inside a fully immersive environment designed for children aged 4 to 14. Each activity teaches life skills such as teamwork, financial literacy, and decision-making. Kids earn “KidZos,” the city’s own currency, which they can save or spend on other activities.

Located in Dubai Mall, KidZania is packed with over 40 role-playing activities for children aged 2 to 16, where they learn about jobs, money, and the real world. KidZania has children’s versions of a hospital, bank, radio station, and more, and each ticket grants all-day access to most city activities.

Parents often find this one of the easiest ways to spend a full afternoon. Children move independently through the space, so you get a little peace while they build real confidence.

Big rides, all day: IMG Worlds of Adventure

The largest indoor theme park in the world, IMG Worlds of Adventure covers over 1.5 million square feet and is fully air-conditioned, making it a true summer destination. It features four immersive zones: Marvel, Cartoon Network, Lost Valley Dinosaur Adventure, and IMG Boulevard.

Marvel fans can meet their favourite heroes in person and ride the Hulk Epsilon rollercoaster as many times as they like. Other zones include Cartoon Network, a Haunted Hotel, and the IMG Kids Zone. Families with younger children tend to stay closer to the Cartoon Network area, while older kids head straight to Lost Valley.

Dubai’s Best Parks for Kids: Complete Guide to Outdoor Play Spaces

What families say about Dubai summer

Living in Dubai year-round means you learn very quickly which indoor spaces are genuinely built for families and which ones just happen to have air conditioning. The best kids attractions in this city share something important: they are designed around what children actually need, which is movement, discovery, and the feeling that they are in charge of their own adventure. Summer here is long, and the venues that succeed are the ones that keep reinventing themselves, adding new workshops, seasonal events, and flexible entry options. As a family, you stop dreading July when you have a reliable shortlist of places where the kids come out tired, happy, and asking to go back. That is the real measure of a great indoor experience.

Hands-on discovery: OliOli children’s museum

OliOli is Dubai’s first experiential children’s play museum, a large indoor space built for curious minds. Kids can explore 8 interactive galleries with over 40 hands-on exhibits. They can climb nets, race cars, launch rockets, and splash in the water zone.

During summer, OliOli also runs a special SlimeMania section where kids can play with fluffy, crunchy, clear, gummy, or buttery slime. Tickets start from AED 139 for children aged 2 to 16, and the museum is open daily from 10am to 7pm.

The museum also offers guided STEAM-based workshops and daily programmes for different age groups. Whether a child is designing an invention or climbing through a colorful net structure, OliOli delivers screen-free, educational fun in a cool, climate-controlled space.

Snow in the desert: Ski Dubai

Located inside the Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai is a magical escape from the summer heat. It is one of the best indoor places for kids in Dubai during summer. With the help of professional instructors, kids can learn how to ski on the slope, and the Snow Park at Ski Dubai is counted among the largest indoor ski resorts in the world.

Ski Dubai is also home to Snow Penguins, where visitors can say hello to the birds and book a penguin package for a memorable experience. The contrast of stepping from 40°C heat into a space with real snow is something children talk about for a long time after.

Whether you choose the Snow Classic or the Snow Plus package, Ski Dubai is perfect for families with kids, offering a real winter experience right in the heart of the desert. Book the penguin encounter early, as those slots fill fast.

Walk under the sea: Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

The Dubai Mall Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is one of the largest suspended aquariums in the world. It houses thousands of aquatic animals and features a 270-degree walk-through tunnel for an immersive underwater experience.

Children can see over 140 species of marine animals, and the 10-million-litre tank offers stunning views alongside interactive experiences such as cage snorkelling and glass-bottom boat tours. The tunnel is a favourite moment for most children, who press their faces to the glass to watch sharks pass overhead.

Because the aquarium sits inside Dubai Mall, you can combine a visit with lunch and a few other cool indoor stops. The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is one of the easiest indoor attractions to add to a full Dubai Mall day.

Explore the cosmos: AYA Universe

Located in WAFI City Mall, AYA Universe is one of Dubai’s newest and most visually stunning indoor experiences. This interactive digital art space transports visitors into a futuristic universe with 12 unique zones full of lights, music, and projection mapping.

AYA is an indoor, light-based attraction with themed rooms filled with colourful projections, sound effects, and motion-activated elements. Some spaces feel like walking through a magical forest, while others react when you step, wave, or jump.

It is an easy, family-friendly activity with many cool photo opportunities. The whole visit takes about an hour, making it a good choice when you want something fun, air-conditioned, and less time-consuming than a full theme park.

Fly without wings: iFly Dubai

iFly Dubai at the City Centre Mirdif shopping mall is a fun indoor skydiving experience where children float in a vertical wind tunnel. It is a short activity and a great option for children from about 4 to 5 years old.

The thrill of flight builds confidence and courage in kids. Sessions include full gear, safety training, and personal flight time. Parents can watch and record the experience, turning it into a memorable summer moment. Instructors guide first-time flyers through every step, so even nervous children tend to love it.

Keep the summer going

Dubai kids attractions make summer something to look forward to, not survive. From a tropical rainforest to real snow to a city where children run their own careers, this city builds indoor experiences with genuine heart. Plan 1 or 2 of these kids attractions each week, mix them with lazy mornings at home, and summer becomes a season your whole family remembers. Book tickets online in advance, arrive early to avoid crowds, and let the cool air do the rest.
